"It really helped me to improve my perspective to what’s really going
on behind the scenes of our heart, soul, mind, and spirit."

"During Possessing The Land, I had an interview for a new job. I felt
I needed to worship and pray all night before the interview, and that
is what I did. After finding out on the phone that I didn’t get the
position, I was very disappointed. As I was thinking about it, the song
“Blessed Be Your Name” came into my head. I sang the song for the
next twenty minutes and worshipped God. God showed me what
happens when I worship Him, I can do things that I did not see as
possible. I will rule over all of my circumstances, I will continue to
worship God, and be a son of God no matter where I go."

"My prideful attitude really started to form recently; I was driven
by self-image and performance. During Possessing The Land I
recognized I had an “Amorite” nation within me, and an attitude
to believe “I’m alright!” I was constantly working out and spending
money on beauty products and clothes. I give Jesus the glory for
revealing the strongholds in my life. Every day it’s a struggle for
me to humble myself before God, but the more I remind myself,
the easier it becomes."

"Possessing The Land has given me a “Will to War”. Prior to doing
this course, there were many of these nations in my life that I would
just accept as part of who I was. I’ve realized I need to wage war
against the enemy and not just try to modify my behaviour."

"Prior to Possessing The Land, there were nations in which I was
justifying their presence because of circumstances in my life.
Characteristics like anger and pride had taken root, and I needed
to claim that God had dealt with the enemy’s power so that I could
deal with it’s presence to help fight the giants. When I feel the
hornets come, I am mindful that it is God at work and He will work
out these nations little by little in my life!"

  • Camille

"For a while I felt like Possessing The Land was moving to fast and
that I wasn’t able to deal with one nation before I discovered another
one, but the sermon on Sunday really helped me with this. I can see
that God will help me to do it a little bit at a time. God put it on my
heart to humble myself and be accountable for some things that I
hadn’t been open about, and I felt like this was the first step to
possessing some land. God has helped me to not be so passive
about things, and hold to His Word and promises."

"God has shown me areas of my life that I have lived in a lot of pride
over the past while. I sent a message to someone from my past that
I was hurt by. I was able to let this person know that I forgive them
for hurting me the way they did and also ask them for forgiveness in
areas of my relationship with them that were stumbling blocks to
them. I can’t describe the peace I felt that came over my spirit, soul
and body. I haven’t heard back from them but I realize it wasn’t
about that. It was about the bondage that was broken from my life
and hopefully in their life too."

"For 23 years I have been merely accepting certain areas in my life
and believing that they were just characteristics of who I am. I was
a passive person, and always had been indecisive. My indecisiveness
was paralyzing to an extent, and I realized that this indecisive spirit
was something I didn’t have to live with. There is no freedom in having
choices being made for you! I am now ready to wage war against the
indecisive spirit within me and step forward in confidence so that the
enemy has no hold on my life in this area and that I may be free to
follow God’s truth about who I am."

  • Becky

"For Possessing The Land, I had zero expectations and was really not
planning on putting anything into or getting anything out of it. Truth
be told, I didn’t care at all. I had a passive attitude about my faith and
was fine with it. My wife wanted to join so I tagged along at her
insistence. After the first week, I had no problem telling everyone in my
group how I felt about the devotional. They challenged me to continue
doing the readings and to “give it a try.” So, not wanting to look like I
had no integrity I did stick it out and did the readings. Before reading
the devotional, I viewed the characteristics of the nations as personality
traits that could not be changed. But through the readings I could see
many of the nations in myself. My favorite time was spent sharing with
the group and discussing the ideas presented in the devotional. Most
of the nations main attributes is pride and we discussed that humility
could be found in accountability, which is something that I would like
to get serious about. At the end of the 6 weeks I realized that I don’t
want to be passive about my faith."

"The Possessing The Land series helped reveal many of my personal
challenges. I am thrilled to know that through Jesus, I can truly live
with a peace of mind. I am excited to renew my mind with the Word
of God, so I can receive all the great things God has for me. This
series was definitely a life changer!"

"I think the biggest thing for me has been being committed to a
church body and the amazing experiences that come out of walking
with people who will keep you accountable. Being a part of a church
family has been something that I didn’t have for many years living
in Calgary and after joining the church I feel God in my life again.
It’s been a struggle and a challenge but I am thankful that no
matter what is going on in my life, I’m not doing it on my own.
And even though I go through so many highs and lows, God is
steadfast."

"For the first time in years, I feel like I am finally a part of a family
and a body where I truly belong. God has blessed me with amazing,
real and genuine relationships. I used to live a lifestyle of partying
and drinking and struggled with it for years. My soul was always
fighting with it and I never thought that I would be set free from that
life completely. Through God’s amazing grace and mercy I have come
to a point where I can say that is my past and I am a new creation in
Christ! God has challenged me to grow deeper in His Word and is
building me a stronger faith than I have ever had in my entire life.
God has given me tools through the courses at Life Connection Church
so that I can build strong foundations so that I can stand on the rock
and not the sand. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am today
in my walk with the Lord if I didn’t start coming to Life Connection Church."
